About Us

Vish & Shannell, Latin Tribe dance teachers in Geelong

Like most good Latin dance stories, ours started with “Want to dance?”

One social dance turned into a partnership. Since then we’ve taught at local social clubs, run classes at one of Australia’s biggest Latin dance schools, and taught and performed at national and international Latin dance festivals. Along the way we built our own style of choreography and led partnerwork, Ladies Styling and Men’s Styling performance teams. We’ve also kept learning, training with international artists from around the world.

Through all of it, we kept seeing the same thing. The best part of Latin dance isn’t the perfect turn pattern. It’s the people: the friendships you make, the music, and the culture you share.

Shannell

  • Dancing since age three

Shannell was dancing before she could spell it. She started at age three and grew up in the studio, training in jazz, ballet, tap and contemporary, and competing all the way through high school.

In 2019 she found Salsa and Bachata, and that changed everything. Her technical foundation turned into a natural flair for Latin styling. Before long she was teaching alongside Vish at The Salsa Foundation, one of Australia's largest Latin dance schools.

Shannell's classes are known for clear technique, a strong eye for detail, and making every student feel they belong on the floor.

Vish grew up in India, where dancing meant freestyle Bollywood: big energy, big expression and no rulebook. In 2017 he walked into his first Salsa class. Bachata and Reggaeton soon followed, and he hasn't left the dance floor since.

He brings that Bollywood musicality and showmanship into everything he teaches. He's best known for Bachata men's styling and choreography, and his classes make guys feel confident on the floor instead of awkward.
